Just wanted to email you an update on Xander. Things are going well! We have been working on some basic obedience, like sit, down and stand, using treats. He catches on very quickly when there is food involved! HAHA! We have slowly but surely been working on grooming. Only doing a little bit every few days to try to help him get used to all the different grooming tools. He is getting better at baths but he does feel the need to act pitiful during it! It is hilarious and so cute! He is really looking very nice and I get compliments on him all the time! I have attached some pictures. They are from my cell phone so they are not the best. The first one is Lucas and Xander playing. I finally got them both to be still long enough to take a picture! The last one is of Xander and our cat, Piper. They get along great! We monitor the playing to be sure that it doesn’t get too rough but they play excellent together! Thanks again! He is great! We couldn’t be happier!   2/03/09

Monday we went to the vet and Xander weighed 14 lbs! He has doubled since we took him last month! It didn't even bother him. He just walked on in, visited with all the ladies that work there, and tried to play with the cat...I guess he thought since Piper is his cat friend that they all must be his friends. HAHA! I was so proud of him when we went this last time...she asked me to put him on the scale, so I walked him over on it and asked him to sit (not really thinking he would do it without a little help) and he sat perfectly until she had the reading! He is so smart! It amazes me sometimes how fast he picks up on things with very little effort. I have been really happy with this vet, she is very knowledgeable about a lot of breeds. She recognized right away that he was excellent quality and commented that she doesn't see very many aussies of that quality around here. She has complimented him every time we go in. When we went the first time they joked with us about going to Alabama to get him, they have been great with Xander.

He is doing great! I am always getting compliments on how pretty he is! He is very friendly…I am not sure if he knows what a stranger is! He is pretty active. I have really got to get him more involved in some agility! He is doing well with obedience. I started working on several things right when we brought him home and that helped him along very nicely.
