DEUCE HAS HOMES IN
DIAMOND-
HEAD, MS,
AND
BLOOMING-
DALE, IL.
We made it home very safely and he is adjusting to his new home and exploring everything. We thought that our house was dog proof, but now we know that it is not puppy proof. He is absolutely beautiful! --Pam 2/10/09         I thought about you both last night as we drove away and how hard it must have been to see a dog that you have cared for and loved leave. We feel very blessed with Deuce. He is quickly learning our ways, and we are learning his. We have decided to spend all day with him so he can get adjusted. The house training is going very well. Every time he goes out he knows what he is supposed to do and he does it. You need to be comforted by the fact that he will be in a good home and he will be well cared for and certainly loved. 2/11/09

DAKOTA
FLIES TO
SAN DIEGO

She’s doing fine. I haven’t sent a photo because it’s hard to get her to sit still long enough. This is the best I could do for now. I had the vet check her yesterday just in case there was a problem on the trip and the vet says she’s fine. (She actually travels in the car reasonably well too.) I also got her papers (thank you) and the vet took a copy of the medical stuff.

You’re right, she’s pretty much into everything. She now has many toys, but her favorite still seems to be a cardboard box I had in one of my spare rooms (yes, I took it away). Until today, all she wanted to do was explore the house (my vocabulary has been reduced to “no” and “don’t chew that”). As of this morning, she has discovered the back yard. She was walking along a low retaining wall (about 8 inches wide with a fence protecting one side), and when she realized that she was now too high off the ground to jump, she actually backed up several yards until there was enough room to turn around.

She’s remarkably coordinated for a puppy, and luckily she doesn’t seem too interested in the fish pond yet (don’t worry, it’s fenced apart from the main yard which she now owns). I also do not understand
her fascination with the flagstone on my patio, she keeps trying to chew on all the rough edges. There are no chemicals so the vet said not to worry about it, but my dog is trying to chew/eat rocks.

“We” are interviewing two dog-sitters/walkers this afternoon so that she is not stuck locked-up all day when I go back to work next week. She’s doing fairly well at meeting new people, but I’m keeping it to small numbers at a time. She was a bit skittish meeting two of my friends on Wed, but yesterday she decided she really likes my mother. The repairman who is vacuuming out the vents on my house today isn’t her favorite though. She’s got the priorities right.
I will send you more photos as soon as I manage to take a few (I have a few friends/family who live out of town and are demanding photos). Maybe I’ll try after she falls asleep. She is also doing okay at night, but I think she’s on east coast time. 4:00am is not my usual wake-up time.
By the way, I’ve settled on “Dakota” for her name, but most of us are calling her “Coda” for short. She’s absolutely beautiful.

JOYEE MEETS
HIS ATLANTA FAMILY

Patches (Joyee) is doing awesome. He loves to walk, we live on a golf course, we live at TPC Sugarloaf. He has quite the fan base here. Everywhere I take him people are just in awe of how handsome he is. He is really good too. I know 3 other ladies that also have puppies 10 to 11 weeks old. They all got together yesterday up at the tennis courts and played for about an hour. It was the cutest thing. They are lab puppies. We could start our own play group with all the puppies in here recently. Must be the “season.”

You can tell the puppies have been loved. I will tell you, this little one will be spoiled rotten. I loved him from the minute I saw him.  1/28/09

SAMSON
GETS
IN HARNESS
FOR HIS RIDE
TO BATON ROUGE

The trip home went very smoothly and Trey is adjusting very well to his new home. We wanted to live with him for a day before settling on a final name. My dad has decided on the name Samson... because our sweet puppy has lots of hair and also because he has a true soft spot for the ladies!!! His official name that we registered with AKC is "Sweet Bree's Samson of Snowpoint." Our children came up with the name Snowpoint 15 years ago with our first AKC dog, a sheltie named Bonnie, because of the white hair on the end of her snout and feet. All of our AKC registered dogs since then have had white tips and have had "of Snowpoint" at the end of their names. I've attached two photos. The first is my dad's sweet smile when he first held Samson. Dad immediately took out his wool Sheepherder's hat (yes, he has one!!) and his jacket and introduced Samson to walking on a leash. The two of them look so adorable together... a large older gentleman and a tiny ball of fluffy energy walking down the street together! They are already inseparable. =) Samson also got his first introduction to clicker training on his first night in a new home. He's such a quick learner! It took him no time at all to pick up his first command, "Watch me!" and he is already following it consistently. After his belly was full of training treats and he'd experienced a very full day of car travel, meeting new people, exploring his new home, and playing, he settled down for a well-deserved nap. I snapped the second photo just as he was about to lay down his head. His beautiful eyes say it all... "I'm content, relaxed, sweet... and oh yeah, tired!!!" 1/16/09

ALICE
BLUEGOWN
JOURNEYS TO
GAINESVILLE,
FLORIDA

Alice made it to our house safe and sound! She did great. She slept in mine and my daughter's lap most of the way home. When we go home, we took her out of her box and put her down and she immediately went pee pee! She then became playful and played with our daughters. Alice and Reagan (our other BM aussie) are getting along very well. Reagan is very laid back and loyal. She herself comes from championship bloodlines. I have a feeling that she will be protective of Alice. Alice was very relaxed and playful with her. It was really sweet. She then went to her food and water bowl and ate very good. She made her self at home. Alice is so beautiful! And her temperament is awesome we could not ask for any better. We are very happy. 1/11/09

SECRET
AGENT
XANDER
IS OFF TO
ARKANSAS

He has been so good! The trip home was pretty uneventful. He slept most of the way and we stopped every 2-3 hours to let him potty. The first night was a little rough because he didn’t want to go back to sleep after getting up to go outside but last night he was great! He got me up several times but went right back to sleep every time! He learns so fast! He has done really well with the kids too! I thought their running around and stuff would get him over excited but not at all! He played great with them! He is here at work with me now and has been perfect. Several people have come to see him and he visits with them for a minute and then lies down quietly when I put him in his crate! I almost can’t believe it!!! He is already becoming a “momma’s boy” … if something makes him nervous he comes running to me! I love it!! He is getting all kinds of compliments, even from the vet, on how nice he looks and how well he behaves! The vet appointment went fine and he checked out good. He is so wonderful! 1/14/09

    MOLLY AND ROSIE

ROSIE GOES WITH MOLLY
ON NEW YEAR'S EVE

TO FIND
LUXURY, JOY, AND HAPPINESS
IN PENSACOLA,
FLORIDA

Pictures from Pensacola
of Rosie at 8 weeks
"Sweet Bree's Ringing in the New Year"

Just wanted to update you on Rosie. She has nearly doubled her weight since we have had her. House training is going well; she has fewer and fewer accidents. Her attention span is improving and she is able to follow simple commands. I am looking into some formal training classes and hopefully agility training in the future. She is our little Houdini..she can climb and jump over pretty much anything. Our vet is very impressed with her and the vet tech has had 8 Aussies and thinks Rosie is terrific. Rosie has a great personality and we love her dearly. Roseanne  1/30/09
We took our little "piggy" in for her 12 week shots and she weighs 14 pounds!!! She is such a good dog! She already knows how to sit and shake. Rosie and our other dog Addie get along great! They act just like sisters. Molly   2/15/09
